colormatch

How can you tell what the right shade is for you?

undertone

  1. Check your veins:  Check the color of the vein on the underside of you arm.  If the vein is more blue, you likely have cool tones.   If it appears more green, you likely have warm tones.
  2. Clothes: what colors do you prefer to wear?  What colors do you typically get compliments on?  If you prefer yellow, peaches, golds and browns you are probably warm toned. Blues, reds and pink suggest cooler tones.
  3. Jewelry: Do you look better in silver or gold? Silver jewelry suggests you may have more cool tones while gold jewelry suggests a warmer tone.
  4. Burn or tan?:  If you turn pink or burn easily, you probably have cooler tones.  If you tan easily, look for warm tones.
  5. Hair and eye color: If you have light colored eyes such as blue or green eyes with blonde, brown, or black hair, you are most likely cool-toned. If you have darker eyes such as brown or hazel eyes with auburn, or black hair you are most likely warm-toned.

Jade Lemon Essential Oil

Jade Lemon

(Citrus limon eureka var. formosensis)

topical aromatic

Jade Lemon essential oil is distilled from fruit grown in the warm, humid climate of southeast China and is cold pressed from the rind.  These fruits are bright green in color, contrary to the lemon we are all accustomed to, which is yellow.  Jade Lemon has high levels of D Limonene and Carvone. Both of these constituents have been heavily studied for their many benefits – google them to find out more!

While other lemons begin to release some of their oils aromatically as they turn yellow, the jade lemon fruit remains green even in maturity, allowing the concentration of oil to continue within the fruit. The oil is released only after the fruit is picked, giving it a richer and more fragrant aroma.

Jasmine Essential Oil

Jasmine Essential Oil

(Jasminum officinale*)

**Jasmine is an absolute or essence, rather than an essential oil.

topical aromatic

Considered to be exotic and romantic, Jasmine supports the skin’s appearance and is used in several Young Living personal care products. The sweet, floral aroma of Jasmine relaxes the mind and boosts self-confidence.

Jasmine absolute is known as the ‘King of Oils’, and its heavy, sweet scent is loved by most people. The flowers release their perfume at dusk, so flowers are picked at night before sunrise.  It takes over 10 lbs of Jasmine flowers to make one 5 ml bottle of oil!  That makes Jasmine an expensive oil, but it doesn’t take much to enjoy this lovely scent and I think you’ll find it’s well worth the extra expense.

jasmine

Jasmine has been used throughout history for attraction and balancing the feminine energy of the body. It is a middle note in perfumery, and is a perfect addition to your feminine arsenal.

How to use: For aromatic or topical use.  Diffuse, inhale, or add to bath water.  Apply to crown of head, back of neck, behind ears or inside wrists.  Possible skin sensitivity.

  1. Make your own perfume and create a signature scent!
  2. Apply to cotton balls and place in air vents in  your home or car.
  3. Add to your favorite beauty products to beautify skin and hair.
  4. Mix with epsom slat and add to the bath to create a luxurious nighttime ritual.
  5. Diffuse in the evening to create a sulty, romantic atmosphere.  Try combining 2 drops of Jasmine with 2 drops of Eucalyptus Globulus and 2 drop of Peppermint for a lovely springtime blend!
