Shutran™ 3-in-1 Men’s Wash

Shutran™ 3-in-1 Men’s Wash

So I LOVE the lavender shampoo and conditioner.  My husband, on the other hand, does not.   I suppose I can see how it might not be the manliest of scents but a little lavender never hurt anyone.    But now it’s no longer an issue because Young Living’s Shutran 3-in-1 men’s wash is not only manly, but it’s a  body wash, face cleanser, and shampoo all in one. Perfect for my husband who is lazy erm, values convenience.  Ha!

Formulated using 100% naturally-derived ingredients, Shutran 3-in-1 Men’s Wash combines the empowering and woodsy scent of Shutran essential oil blend with ingredients such as aloe and ucuuba nut oil.  This combination makes for an essential oil-infused body wash with a powerful clean that doesn’t strip skin or hair of moisture.   That makes it a fantastic option for men who have sensitive skin.

Essential Oil Safety

Essential Oils are wonderful.  I truly believe that.  But just because they are natural does not mean they can’t hurt you.  The following are just a few thing to think about when starting out with essential oils.

1.  Ingesting Oils:  One reason why I like Young Living Essential Oils is their commitment to purity.  With their seed to seal promise I don’t worry about synthetics or additives. ( http://seedtoseal.com/en )  Not all oils are safe to  ingest so please be sure to read labels carefully.  I do not recommend ingesting any other brand besides Young Living essential oils that are labeled as dietary supplements.

2.  Children and Elderly: In general, you should adjust dosages downward for children and elderly, but also use extra caution in choosing essential oils to be used in babies and children (or avoid use altogether).  Using a carrier oil to dilute essential oils used with children is an extra layer of protection and one that is highly recommended.  Also, if you apply essential oils to the feet, a baby may reach down and touch their feet then rub their eyes, or worse, place their foot into their mouths.  Please make a well informed decision.

3. Pregnancy/Breastfeeding:  There is SO much information out there regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding that I’ll only say one thing.  Research. Research Research.  And then research some more.

4.  Skin Sensitivity:  Some people have very sensitive skin and some oils are more prone to causing a skin reaction than others (see chart below).  It’s wise to do a patch test before using any oil for the first time.   To do this use a bit of oil, diluted with a carrier oil, inside your forearm or wrist.  After 24 hours if any redness, swelling, blistering, itchiness or burning occurs it’s probably a safe bet that you are having a reaction to that oil.

5. Phototoxicity:citrus  Some oils, especially citrus oils,  will make your skin more sensitive in the sun.  So do not, for instance, use lemon oil on your face to treat your acne then go lay in a tanning bed.  Seriously.  Don’t do it.

6. Flammability: Keep them clear of open flame, spark, or Fire hazards.

7. Eyes, Ears and Nose:  As a general rule,  do NOT put essential oils directly in your ears, eyes or nose.  If you accidentally get an essential oil in your eyes, flush with olive oil or milk before rinsing with water (water and oil don’t play well together).   Be careful to wash your hands after applying essential oils so you don’t accidentally get them in your eyes if you rub them.
