Peace & Calming II™ from Young Living

Peace & Calming II™

topical aromatic

Although not designed as a replacement for Peace & Calming® essential oil blend, this new formulation will have increased availability.   Peace & Calming contains an oil, Blue Tansy, that has always been difficult to source.  Young Living has grown so much that demand for Peace & Calming surpassed the Blue Tansy supply.

Given Young Living’s commitment to purity,  and that the oils are subject to the cycles of nature, Peace & Calming II was formulated to give us another option.

D. Gary Young specially formulated Peace & Calming II™ essential oil blend as his recommended option and alternate to Peace & Calming. Gary handpicked this new formulation to stay true to the original constituent character of its predecessor and offer the same great experience. The gentle aroma of Peace & Calming II includes:

  • Tangerine
  • Orange
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Patchouli
  • German Chamomile
  • Vetiver
  • Cistus
  • Bergamot
  • Cassia
  • Davana, and Young Living’s exclusive
  • Northern Lights Black Spruce essential oils.

This proprietary blend creates a relaxing and pleasant aroma when inhaled or diffused. Dilute and apply topically to moisturize and beautify the appearance of skin. Peace & Calming II includes the naturally occurring constituents germacrene D, linalol, alpha-pinene, and bisabolol. Along with Peace & Calming, you’ll now have two unique and powerful options that can be used individually or together for a complementary experience!

Why you should think twice before using air fresheners

air freshener

Air Fresheners contain allergens and potential carcinogens (acetaldehyde or styrene, as well as other substances such as toluene and chlorbenzene, glycol ethers, phthalates and artificial musk)

Air Fresheners don’t “purify” the air.  Instead, the coat the air and the inside of your nasal passageways. But in the end all they do is cover up the smell, and do a poor job at that.  “Now it smells like fish and roses!”

Air Fresheners contain Phthalates (pronounced THAL-ates).  “Studies involving rat and human subjects have suggested that high exposures to certain kinds of phthalates can cause cancer, developmental and sex-hormone abnormalities (including decreased testosterone and sperm levels and malformed sex organs) in infants, and can affect fertility. ” Time Magazine.

Air fresheners have little to no regulation:  According to Health Wyze, “The cleaning industry is self-regulated, which translates to no regulation. Chemical companies do not need permission from any authoritative body before releasing their latest air fresheners or cleanup wipes”

Air fresheners don’t support your health:  Essential oils smell great, but that’s only the tip of what they can do.   Essential oils can support your body systems including your immune and respiratory systems.  Essential oils can lift your mood, heighten your senses, and brighten your outlook.  Essential oils can boost your energy, focus your mind and sharpen your concentration.   Essential oils provide BALANCE.  But best of all, essential oils are natural and do not contain carcinogens.

room freshener

This is my favorite room freshening spray.  I keep it in the bathroom to freshen damp towels and just refresh the bathroom overall.  Yes, there are numerous poo poo sprays out there using oils but not everyone in the house is considerate enough to actually USE it.

I also use it to freshen the area around the catbox, to freshen the garbage area, to get rid of musty smells….it’s basically the spring cleaning of essential oils mixes.   You don’t have to use the baking soda but I find it helps to emulsify the oils.

Room Spray

1 cup distilled water

1/2 cup witch hazel (or vodka)

1 Tbsp baking soda

10 drops of your favorite essential oil, blend or recipe.
