Grapefruit essential oil

Grapefruit essential oil

(Citrus paradisi)

topical aromatic

Grapefruit essential oil is used aromatically and topically  while Grapefruit Vitality essential oil is a dietary oil and therefore can be ingested.

Grapefruit has a wonderfully uplifting citrus aroma and like most citrus oils is cold pressed from the rind. It’s scent is so bright and energizing that’s it’s a wonderful aroma to diffuse to uplift your mood and clarify your mind.

The main constituent in Grapefruit is d-limonene.  the uplifting benefits found in Limonene are what makes it such a great oil to use aromatically.  Google d-limonene to learn more about this important constituent and it’s benefits!

Grapefruit Vitality Essential Oil

Grapefruit Vitality

(Citrus paradisi)

dietary

Grapefruit Vitality essential oil is sweet, juicy, and tastes almost exactly like fresh grapefruit. If you’re looking for a way to say no to sugary drinks, a drop or two of
Grapefruit Vitality in a glass of water can go a long way toward satisfying that craving
for something sweet and refreshing—without the guilt!

grapefruit-2

Cold pressed from the rinds, Grapefruit essential oil has a fresh, citrus aroma that is energizing and uplifting.

Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) essential oil includes the naturally occurring constituent limonene. Grapefruit is a delightful way to enhance the flavor of meals and water. Grapefruit is also an important ingredient in Slique™ Essence and Power Meal™.

Most of us who take cholesterol medication and certain other medications know that grapefruit juice can interfere with the medication’s ability to do it’s job.  Does Young Living Grapefruit oil interact with medication to the same extent as grapefruit juice?  No, there is much, much less risk of having clinically important drug interactions from Grapefruit OIL than there is with  grapefruit JUICE.  But don’t take my word for it.  Watch this video starting at 00:50 to listen to pharmacist Lindsey Elmore describe what the differences are and why there is less of a risk.  And, naturally, to always ALWAYS consult your  physician for further information.

How to use: For internal use. To use as a dietary supplement, add to food, water or other beverages. Can also place a few drops in a vegetable capsule and take internally to support overall wellness.

  1. Water: Add to drinking water for a flavorful boost!
  2. Support your weight management program by taking Grapefruit Vitality as a
dietary supplement. Just add 1–2 drops to a vegetarian gel capsule and take it
daily or as often as needed.
  3. Hollandaise sauce: Add to hollandaise sauce to give your Salmon some zest.
  4. Salad Dressing: Add to salad dressing.  How about adding to a vinaigrette dressing for a watercress, walnut salad?  Yum.
  5. Citrus dessert: Add to your favorite citrus dessert such as Lemon bars or fruit salad

BATH SALTS using essential oils

BATH SALTS

What kind of salt do I use?

Sea Salt, Epsom salt, Dead Sea Salt, Kosher salt or a combination of salts. Salts can come in several grain sizes and combining them can make a visually appealing mix. Keep in mind larger salts take longer to dissolve and can be painful on sensitive tushies.

What else can I add?

Some people use 1/4 cup baking soda per 1 cup salt to add a bit of fizz to their bath.  Others add carrier oils such as Jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil for added moisturization.  To be super fancy you can add small bits of dried herbs or flowers for accents (lavender, rose petals, rosemary). Also, these salts make great gifts and adding 1-2 drops of food or soap coloring adds a wonderfully flair!  Note: Be VERY careful about adding coloring to your bath salts as using too much food coloring may stain the skin or your tub.  Find soap colorants on amazon HERE

How many drops of essential oil do I add?

Again, this is mostly personal taste. 5-10 drops of essential oil per cup of salt is a good place to start.   Use approximately 1/2 cup of salt per bath.

How do I mix them?

Add your salts into a stainless steel bowl and add your coloring, baking soda, oil or flower bits first.  Mix well.  Then add your essential oils.  Let oils dry for a couple hours before putting in an air tight glass jar.

How do I  use them?

Use 1/4 to 1/2 cup of bath salt mix in a regular sized tub.  Pour salt in a warm bath and wait for the salt to dissolve.  Did you know you can also use bath salts in the shower?  Just grab a handful and add a little bit of shower gel and gently massage on your skin to exfoliate dead skin cells.
