Carrot Seed Essential oil

Carrot Seed Essential oil

(Daucus carota sativa)

topical aromatic

Carrot Seed essential oil is for use aromatically and topically while Carrot Seed Vitality essential oil is dietary and therefore can be ingested.  Both bottles contain the same essential oil and differ only in the way they are labeled.  The designation of the two products allows you to share all the ways to use essential oils in the correct and FDA approved way.

Produced from distillation of the seeds of the wild carrot plant, Carrot Seed has a mildly sweet aroma with earthy, herbaceous notes.  This white, flowering plant is also known by the names Wild Carrot and Queen Anne’s Lace. This oil also has a musky scent that is not very pleasant to some.  I don’t hate the aroma, but I don’t love it either.  That being said, carrot seed oil is rejuvenating to the skin and can be found in many skin care products.

How to use: For aromatic or topical use.  Diffuse, inhale, or add to bath water.  Apply to crown of head, back of neck, behind ears or inside wrists.  Possible skin sensitivity.

  1. Create a salt scrub by mixing 1 cup Himalayan Salt, 1/2 cup fractionated coconut oil, and 5-7 drops Carrot Seed oil.  (Hint, use whatever combination of oils you have on hand!  See below for a list of some of the common carrier oils and their properties).  If you have sensitive skin you may want to swap the salt for sugar which may be gentler on your skin.
  2. Add to your favorite nightly face cream to nourish, rejuvenate and support the appearance of healthy looking and smooth skin.
  3. After spending too much time in the sun add Carrot Seed oil to your aloe vera gel for an extra soothing effect.
  4. Add to your hair conditioner (5 drops for every Tbsp of conditioner) for a lustrous boost in shine and moisture!
  5. Refreshing when diffused with oils like Bergamot, Lavender, Lemon and Geranium.
