Clove essential oil

Clove

(Syzygium aromaticum)

topical aromatic

Clove essential oil is used aromatically and topically  while Clove Vitality essential oil is a dietary oil and therefore can be ingested.

Clove is an important ingredient in Young Living’s Thieves oil blend, and has a scent that is very warm and inviting.   Clove is the perfect scent for fall and winter – it reminds me of Thanksgiving, Mulled cider, crisp nights, and Christmas.  It comes from the flower buds of the evergreen tree and the buds resemble small nails or tacks.   Always dilute Clove when using topically.

How to use: For aromatic or topical use.  Diffuse, inhale, or add to bath water.  Apply to crown of head, back of neck, behind ears or inside wrists.  Possible skin sensitivity.

  1. Enjoy this festive fall scent in your own sugar scrub by combining 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 3/4 cup sugar and your favorite oils.  Combine Clove with complimentary oils such as Cinnamon, Orange, or Ginger.
  2. Add a single drop to your toothbrush when brushing your teeth to promote fresh, clean breath!
  3. Clove is a warming oil and is therefore a great oil to use for a warming massage.
  4. Diffuse Clove any time of year to enjoy it’s spicy scent.  Try diffusing it with Frankincense and orange.
  5. Add clove to a spritzer bottle with water and alcohol and use it to spritz up your potpourri.  Feeling adventurous?  Make your own potpourri using dried fruits, dried flower heads or petals, pine cones and wood chips.  Combine Clove with Cassia, Vetiver, Orange, Cinnamon, Ginger and spritz on potpourri as needed for a wonderfully fall scent.  This makes a GREAT Christmas gift!

Potpourri

Homemade Potpourri suggestions:

  • Pine cones
  • Bay leaves

  • Acorns
  • Dried tree bark or wood chips
  • Dried cranberries
  • Optional: Orris root powder – this helps the scent to last longer.  Orris powder can readily be found on Amazon.com
  1. Make sure that all ingredients are completely dry.  this can be accomplished by heating them in the oven at a very low temperature or by placing them in a warm corner of your house for a couple of weeks.  Be sure to choose a mix that not only smells nice, but has an appealing texture and color as well.
  2. Mix your potpourri using any combination you choose, add a Tbsp of orris powder and 2-3 drops of each essential oil.  Mix.
  3. Store in airtight container for 2-3 weeks.  Add to a decorative bowl and enjoy.
  4. Alternatively, add one cup of potpourri mixture to a pot of water on the stove to infuse the home with your scent.

Black Pepper essential oil

Black Pepper essential oil

(Piper nigrum)

Black Pepper essential oil is used aromatically and topically  while Black Pepper Vitality essential oil is a dietary oil and therefore can be ingested.

Black Pepper is best known as a cooking spice but it’s topical application is equally as noteworthy. It should be used with caution when applied topically due to its strong warming sensation.

It is also beautifully fragrant when used aromatically. Inhale directly for its energizing aroma or pair with other oils such as Peppermint, Wintergreen, or Clove.

Angelica essential oil

Angelica essential oil

(Angelica Archangelica)

Angelica is distilled from the seed and root and has soothing aromatic qualities that help create a relaxing environment. It has been referred to as the “oil of angels,” in part because of its calming aroma.

Archangelica comes from the Greek word “arkhangelos” (=arch-angel), as folk lore thought it’s healing powers were so strong that they must be from divine origin.  Another explanation of the name of this plant is that it blooms on the day of Michael the Archangel (May 8, old style), and is on that account a preservative against evil spirits and witchcraft: all parts of the plant were believed efficacious against spells and enchantment. It was held in such esteem that it was called ‘The Root of the Holy Ghost.’

Today, diffusing this blend helps to dispel negative emotions and bring about feelings of peace and spiritual awareness.  It is an important ingredient in Awaken, Forgiveness, Grounding and Surrender essential oil blends.

Pure Protein Complete by Young Living

Pure Protein Complete

Chocolate Deluxe and Vanilla Spice

From your head to your toes and everything in between, protein is a necessary component of every cell in the body. Your body uses protein to build and repair tissue, and it is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. You also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other essential chemicals in the body. Your hair and nails are almost exclusively made of protein. Clearly, protein is indispensable—both in your body and in your diet.

Along with fat and carbohydrates, protein is a macronutrient, meaning that the body needs relatively large amounts of it. Vitamins and minerals, which are only needed in small quantities, are called micronutrients. But unlike fat and carbohydrates, the body does not store protein and, therefore, has no reservoir to draw on when it needs a new supply.

One study suggests that consuming protein at regular intervals during the day may help support whole-body metabolism. Eating snacks rich in protein throughout the day could aid how your body uses this essential nutrient.(http://www.webmd.com/men/features/benefits-protein)
