Chamomile essential oil (German and Roman)

Chamomile

Roman and German

topical aromatic

Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) has a warm, sweet, herbaceous scent that is relaxing and calming for both mind and body. Its gentleness makes it especially valuable for restless children. Soothing to all types of skin, it is used extensively in Europe in skin preparations. Roman chamomile is also beneficial when added to massage oil for a soothing effect after exercise.* Roman chamomile was one of the Saxons’ nine sacred herbs.

Similarly, German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) has a calming aroma that helps create feelings of peace and patience. This oil can be applied neat or as part of massage to desired areas.

chamomile

Although Roman and German Chamomile belong to different species, they are used for similar purposes.  Both are used to promote a calming atmosphere and to support skin health*.

  1. Calming: Dilute and use topically or diffuse to promote a calming atmosphere
  2. Sleep: To support restful sleep, diffuse or dilute and use Chamomile topically.   Can also mix with epsom salt and add to warm water to create a relaxing bath.
  3. Skin Health: Use in a tonic or ointment as part of your skin care regime
  4. Massage: German Chamomile is a better agent to use as part of your massage regiment than Roman Chamomile due to it’s higher chamazulene count.

10 uses for Abundance™ essential oil blend

Abundance™

topical aromatic

Abundance™ is created to enhance the frequency of the harmonic magnetic energy field that surrounds us. This higher frequency creates what is called “the law of attraction,” which refers to the things we attract to ourselves. Abundance opens us to a wealth of possibilities.

Abundance YL compliant

Abundance has a rich and spicy aroma.  They say when you use Abundance, good things happen.  I don’t believe that Abundance increases your luck, but rather opens you up to possibilities which therefore gives you that extra push to MAKE things happen.   Here’s a video of Gary Young talking about Abundance.  It’s a very poor quality video and I apologize for that but it IS interesting.

Use this oil whenever you seek abundance.  Abundance doesn’t just mean money – it can be love, success, happiness or health.

How to use: For aromatic or topical use.  Diffuse, inhale, or add to bath water.  Apply to crown of head, back of neck, behind ears or inside wrists.  Possible skin sensitivity.

  1. Resume:  Put a drop of Abundance on your resume before sending them to potential employers.
  2. Work:  Diffuse Abundance at work to increase business.
  3. Advancement: Use abundance as a perfume before your annual review with the boss to better your chances of negotiating a raise or more vacation time.
  4. Dating: Use on your wrists or over your heart when going on a date to attract abundance in love!
  5. Career change: diffuse when contemplating a career change to open yourself up to possibilities
  6. Meditation:  Abundance is a wonderful oil to use when meditating to open your mind and release your limitations.
  7. Pray: If you are religious and pray, diffusing this oil while praying opens yourself up the abundance of your God’s love.
  8. Sales: If you have a business or are an Independent Distributor for Young Living, diffuse or wear Abundance when doing a class to increase sales!
  9. Wallet: A drop on the wallet to attract money!  Hey – you’ve done crazier things to make a buck…
  10. Business Cards: place a drop of Abundance on your business cards and open the minds of your potential customers to do business with you!

I got my Premium Starter Kit from Young Living…now what?

Now what?

I see this all the time on forums: “My premium starter kit just came in the mail!! Now what do I do with them?”

It’s easy to become overwhelmed with your oils and you’ll find that a lot of it is trial and error as different oils react differently from person to person.   I’ve put together some good rules to start you off on the right foot.

1. Dilute with a carrier oil, such as organic cold pressed coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil.  Mixing your oil with a carrier oil does NOT dilute the benefits, it just allows you to spread it around more and minimizes potential for a negative reaction.  If you can’t find them in town at your local health food store, then Amazon.com has a good selection. For most  situations, 2-5% dilution is enough.

2. Do a patch test first.   Don’t assume that just because oils are natural they can’t hurt you or your skin.  A patch test will ensure that you don’t react negatively before you slather it all over your body!

3. Invest in a book If you are serious about incorporating oils into your life, then usage books will be your essential oil bible.  Seriously.  There are many out there but I can’t tell you which ones – sorry!

4. Use your upline.  You can find your upline information in the Young Living virtual office.  They are there to help you.  USE THEM.  Otherwise, join some forums.  Bookmark this blog.  Research, research, research!

5.  Most importanly, be safe. 🙂

Ocotea essential oil

Ocotea

(Ocotea quixos)

dietary

A key ingredient in Stress Away essential oil blend, Ocotea essential oil is extracted from the stem and leaves of the ocotea tree in Ecuador, and is related to the cinnamon species. This essential oil has an aroma that is different from any common cinnamon and has far less skin sensitivity than cinnamon essential oil.  This is because the compound that creates skin sensitivity, cinnamaldehyde, is less than 5% of Ocotea oil  and up to 50% of cinnamon bark essential oil.

Ocotea has the highest level of alpha humulene of any Young Living essential oil.  Only copaiba essential oil has comparable levels of this natural plant compound.

How to use: For aromatic or topical use. Diffuse, inhale, or add to bath water. Apply to crown of head, back of neck, behind ears or inside wrists. Possible skin sensitivity.

  1. Healthy eating: When used in conjunction with healthy eating habits, Ocotea can help you meet your goals.  Add a few drops of Ocotea to a glass of water or your favorite tea to help curb snacking urges and preserve healthy eating habits.*
  2. Breakfast:  Add a drop or two to a bowl of oatmeal or other hot cereal in the morning for extra flavor.
  3. Baking:  Ocotea has a similar profile to cinnamon.  Substitute Ocotea anytime you would like a less intense cinnamon flavor.
  4. Tea: Add to hot tea or cocoa for a flavorful boost.
  5. Pork chops: cover your pork chops with applesauce spiced with Ocotea!
